Funeral is a performance of a burial ritual, presented on recorded video. In this piece, the artist is performing her own funeral through the action of repotting Jasmine plants and burying parts of herself into a pot that is proportionate to the artist’s body. The artist buried a set of her nail clippings, a vile of her blood, and a lock of her hair as representations of her body. The performance becomes the right of passage of leaving the past behind and growing a new beginning.
